Add sorting by Noozometer score to the celebrity listing
Other sorting options would be nice too, but it would be cool to be able to sort the celebrity list by their all-time noozometer scores.

Create indicators of media types and count on news items
For example, if an item has a youtube video and 3 images in it, say so.

Great idea, and it’s already underway. We’re revamping the latest nooz section of our homepage in large ways in the coming week. This feature is among those we’re working on.

Explain the celebrity score somewhere
The score that appears next to a celebrity's name is a bit confusing. Sometimes it's higher than 10.0. What does this score mean anyway?

The score is calculated algorithmically. Occasionally, celebrities get so much attention in the blogosphere that they are literally “off the chart”. We’ve had some internal discussion about how to deal with this. One idea is to cap scores at 10.0 and to add some sort of icon (flaming, perhaps?) to celebrities who are “blowing up”.
Open to ideas. Comment away.

Make sure "in the nooz" links have content behind them
Some of the links associated with "in the nooz" don't have any information behind them. Jennifer Gray needs a photo. "penny" has nothing except the name. Etc.

Add real time notification for favorite celebrity news
Would an email or text message when one of your favorite celebrities has news about them be a feature people would like?

add links to the noozometer graphs
It would be cool if you could click on the bars on the bar graphs. For example, if Tom Cruise had 7.8% of all postings on Aug. 16, what were those postings?

This is something we’ve wanted to do for some time. There are limitations to the flash technology we’ve implemented for the noozometer that currently prohibit us from having it interact directly with the page. We’ve reached out to its author (who has been very responsive in the past) to see about getting this ability built in. In the meanwhile, you should see some pretty big changes in the way the noozometer information is presented which might get you what you’re after. Check back in tomorrow, as our next feature launch is later today :)

Allow users to specify their local timezone for display.
Let users tell us what TZ they're in so that the display can accurately report to them when items were posted.

'In the Nooz' - should have more than 1 nooz
Like msn.com homepage. They have 3 top stories that rotate every 10 seconds. User can scroll through them manually or pause the auto-scroll. Makes it seem like the site is update more often. I think these stories change every hour or so. Updates in the 'Latest Nooz' section seem subtle and there is so much text there, it's not very eye-catching.

Good insight. We’re working right now to bolster our writing staff for “In the Nooz,” which should help with the number of updates, and are actively working on making the Latest Nooz section more… appealing and user friendly.

Fool proof the nooz search start and end dates
Give an error if the start date is after the end date, otherwise it just says No items found.

Create a fantasy celebrity gossip application
People could choose 10 or 15 celebrities and the winner would be the person whose celebrities have the most blog mentions in aggregate.

We have them as a source but seem to have developed some sort of problem collecting their feed about a week ago. We’re looking into it.

Alter the way the nooz listing page's calendar works
I think removing the time from these calendars, and closing the pop in when the user clicks on the day of the month would be closer to industry standards and easier to use. The time thing is a nice touch, but I think is overkill in this situation. Thoughts?

create a separate screen for websites accessed via Noozler
When searching for news, have the websites accessed show on a separate screen so that they can be closed and you will automatically go back to Noozler

Good idea. We’ve begun doing this on outbound links, but will endeavor to see that all such links open a new tab or window.
